Crozer-Chester Emergency Department, Chester (Delaware County)
One of the busiest emergency departments in southeastern Pennsylvania, Crozer-Chester serves more than 46,000 patients per year.The ED began routine HIV testing under an integrated model in November 2009 using OraQuick rapid test technology. The program has successfully identified positive cases and linked them to care.
Allegheny General Hospital Deparment of Emergency Medicine, Pittsburgh (Allegheny County)The Department of Emergency Medicine is one of the busiest in Southwestern Pennsylvania, and has been a Level 1 Trauma Center since 1986. It can accomodate 65,000 patients annually, and houses 30 examination rooms. The ED began routine testing under an integrated model in December 2010. Allegheny General is also home to the Positve Health Clinic, which cares for people living with HIV.
